ILR School and Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi Exchange


Harry C. Katz, Dean, School of Industrial & Labor Relations and Andrea Sironi, Rector, Università of Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (Bocconi), signed a student exchange agreement on January 2014. This agreement offers undergraduate students the opportunity to study at Bocconi for one semester or a full academic year.

About Bocconi

Bocconi, founded in 1902, was the first Italian university to grant a degree in economics. Today, Bocconi Universityit is a prominent research university in business, economics, and law. Bocconi is considered the leading university in business and economics in Italy. The business school was ranked 11th in Europe according to the Financial Times European Business School Rankings 2012. The MBA program was ranked 39th worldwide by the Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 2013.

Location

Bocconi is located in Milan, Italy. Milan is Italy's international economic and financial hub, as well as the center of fashion and industrial design.The Bocconi campus is within walking distance of the town center, a showcase for Milan's history as a regional capital of the Roman Empire, a powerful medieval Duchy, and Leonardo da Vinci's Renaissance home.

Courses & Credits

Students have the option to take courses in English or Italian from across various university departments for a full academic year or a semester, earning up to 15 ILR elective credits per semester. One course must be in Italian language. Tuition Costs

The Bocconi Exchange Program is tuition-neutral (students pay regular tuition to the ILR School). Financial aid would apply. If you are currently receiving financial aid, your package would be adjusted based on your determined level of need and the projected costs of the program.

Other Costs

ILR exchange students are responsible for their passport, visa, air fare, room and board, transportation, and fees related to courses, books, and personal expenses.

Who Should Apply

ILR undergraduate students interested in expanding their academic knowledge of Italy and interested in studying Italian language at any level.

Who is Eligible?

Students must have junior or senior standing and must have completed their ILR core requirements. Students must also be in good standing with the ILR School and the University, and have a 3.0 GPA by the time of departure.

Bocconi Exchange Program Dates

Fall semester: early September to late December 2014
Spring semester: mid-February to mid-July 2015
