Grad RA for International Programs

Ana StojanovikMy name is Ana Stojanovic. I am a first year MILR student and the newly appointed graduate research assistant for International Programs (IP). Being an international student myself, I am very enthusiastic to work with a team that constantly strives to increase ILR’s international visibility and develop opportunities for ILR students to study abroad. I am looking forward to an opportunity to meet and cooperate with students, scholars and other professionals involved in the program.

Studying in three countries with different educational systems has enabled me to meet many people of diverse cultural backgrounds. So far, it has been the most valuable and memorable experience of my life. I truly believe that diverse international academic experience has shaped my personality and made me who I am today - for better or for worse.

I was born in Jagodina (English translation: Strawberry City), a city in Serbia, and lived there for the first eighteen years of my life. Upon graduation from High School, I moved to Bulgaria to study at the American University in Bulgaria where I received a BA degree in Business Administration and Economics. Soon afterwards I moved to the United States and spent two amazing and hectic years living and working in Boston and Cape Cod prior to coming to Ithaca. During that time my work experience ranged from cross-cultural HR consulting to working as a manager in fashion and restaurant businesses. My other work experience includes summer internships in the HR and Finance departments at global organizations such as Hyatt Regency Hotel, Booz Allen Hamilton and USAID.

Upon graduating from Cornell, my goal is to work for a global company with strong representation in Eastern Europe which will enable me to utilize both my academic knowledge and knowledge of the region coupled with the fluency in regional languages. That will also be a wonderful opportunity for me to spend more time with my family and friends back home in the beautiful City of Strawberries.

From now on I am fully available for your questions and suggestions about International Programs and I encourage you to contact me anytime. I wish you all a wonderful semester!
