Evaluation of Workers Compensation ADR Pilot Programs
ILR faculty devised a system to evaluate the use of mediation and arbitration
to resolve workers compensation disputes for New York City electricians. They
then compared the results of that ADR pilot program against results achieved under
the traditional Workers' Compensation Board dispute resolution system of administrative
judges.

The Appropriate Resolution of Corporate Disputes: A Report on the Growing Use
of ADR by U.S. Corporations
The Institute on Conflict Resolution conducted a survey of the Fortune 1000 and
developed case studies of 60 major corporations to determine the extent to which
these companies use alternative dispute resolution. The research showed a high
level of usage and general satisfaction with ADR, but also demonstrated that a
vanguard of corporations were moving beyond ADR to the development of integrated
conflict management systems.

Evaluation of Internal Mediation for the NYS Unified Court System
The Institute on Conflict Resolution is tracking a pilot internal mediation process
recently inaugurated in one judicial district in the state. The research will
address questions such as party satisfaction with the process, efficiency, usage
rate, and its utility to the parties. The results will inform decisions about
the longer-term goal of extending the program to all 12 judicial districts in
New York State.
