Research & Evaluation
  •  Evaluation of Workers Compensation ADR Pilot Programs
ILR faculty devised a system to evaluate the use of mediation and arbitration to resolve workers compensation disputes for New York City electricians. They then compared the results of that ADR pilot program against results achieved under the traditional Workers' Compensation Board dispute resolution system of administrative judges.
" The Appropriate Resolution of Corporate Disputes: A Report on the Growing Use of ADR by U.S. Corporations
The Institute on Conflict Resolution conducted a survey of the Fortune 1000 and developed case studies of 60 major corporations to determine the extent to which these companies use alternative dispute resolution. The research showed a high level of usage and general satisfaction with ADR, but also demonstrated that a vanguard of corporations were moving beyond ADR to the development of integrated conflict management systems.

" Evaluation of Internal Mediation for the NYS Unified Court System
The Institute on Conflict Resolution is tracking a pilot internal mediation process recently inaugurated in one judicial district in the state. The research will address questions such as party satisfaction with the process, efficiency, usage rate, and its utility to the parties. The results will inform decisions about the longer-term goal of extending the program to all 12 judicial districts in New York State.
