ILR's 2009 celebration of the School and its network of dedicated alumni and
friends -- the Groat Alpern Celebration -- took place on March 26 at the Pierre in NYC.
Guests numbered over 350 this year for ILR's biggest annual alumni event. The new event and awards presentation format--reception buffet style-- was conducive to the informal conversation that is hallmark of the ILR network in action. The 2009 honorees, recognized for their contributions to the world of work and their dedication to the School, included Doug Braunstein '83, head of JPMorgan's Investment Banking division, and Bonnie Siber Weinstock '75, a labor and employment arbitrator and mediator.
As in previous years, the School debuted a new informational video which played in a continuous loop during the event. It features interviews with the dean, students, faculty and alumni on the ILR School today. You can watch the video here.
