Application Deadlines

Spring 2014 Admission:

October 15th

Fall 2014 Admission:

Round 1 - January 1st
Round 2 - February 15th

Note: MS/PhD applications are NOT accepted for spring admission. All MS/PhD applications must be submitted during Round 1 (January 1 application deadline)

During the admission process, there are three possible decisions the admissions committee can make:

  1. You may be accepted into the program.
  2. You may be refused admission to the program.
  3. You may be placed on the wait list.

If you are accepted:
If you are accepted into the program and you plan to come to Cornell, you must officially accept your offer of admission at www.gradschool.cornell.edu/response.

Students accepted into the MILR degree program are required to pay a non-refundable admission deposit of $750 due when they accept their offer of admission. This deposit secures your place in the incoming class and will be credited toward the first semester tuition bill. At this time admission deposits are payable by check or money order only.

Checks should be written to The ILR School, ILR Graduate Programs, and mailed to:

If you are placed on the wait list:
If you are placed on the wait list during round 1 of applications, you will automatically be placed in the application pool for round 2. If you are placed on the wait list during round 2, we will notify you of the committee's final decision by May 1. Placement on the wait list means that the admissions committee would like more time to deliberate on your application. As places open up, some wait listed applicants may be notified of an offer of admission before May 1, but all applicants, whether accepted or refused, will be notified by that date.
