Labor Leaders Climate Retreat 2008
The Labor Leaders Climate Forum was officially launched on July 18-19, 2008 at the Pocantico Conference Center in Tarrytown, New York. High level representatives from sixteen US unions and four leaders from the international labor movement attended the two day meeting, along with representatives from Apollo Alliance, Blue-Green Alliance, Worldwatch Institute, US Climate Action Network, PEW Environment Group and Center for American Progress. The participants engaged in a series of discussions based around 4 themes: Climate Protection and the Obama Scenario; Transition to the Green Economy; Labor's Role in the International Negotiations; and Organizing, Campaigns and Bargaining around Climate Issues.
