Carbon Bomb? Trade Union Perspectives on the Alberta Tar Sands –
Climate, Environment and Jobs
December 2
The Keystone XL pipeline has drawn attention to the Alberta tar sands and divided the labour movement in both Canada and the United States. This workshop invites ITUC delegates and our allies to discuss how the international labor movement can best respond to the challenges posed by the tar sands development and new oil transportation infrastructure that is emerging.
Sponsored by the Communication, Energy and Paperworkers Union (CEP) of Canada, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) and the Cornell Global Labor Institute
Location: University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Howard College campus, Durban, South Africa
Time: 5:30pm
This workshop is part of the ITUC's World of Work (WoW) Pavilion. For the full WoW schedule, click here.
