The Sixth Dusseldorf Forum for Labor Relations
October 23-24, 2006
Representing the Cornell Global Labor Institute, Gene Carroll attended the Sixth Dusseldorf Forum for Labor Relations in Dusseldorf, Germany. In his presentation entitled Part-Time Employment and Labor Unions: Current Trends through the Lens of the Wal-Mart Corporation, Carroll addressed the current corporate and government supported economic and employment trends that are “reducing workers’ control over their lives, shrinking the middle class, de-valuing work, depressing wages, widening the disparity in income between social classes, and generally decreasing economic security for current and future generations.”
