Globalization and the Workplace

advancing the world of work

Welcome to Globalization & the Workplace, a portal to documentation on the effects of globalization on workers and working conditions, labor relations, and social movements.

Our main goal is to capture, preserve, and make available  documentation that was created in digital format, especially if generated by underfunded organizations that use the Internet as their main tool for their activities. The documentation of these activities is thus in danger of being lost. Digital content is vulnerable and often becomes unavailable. We capure it and store it in a digital repository, thus ensuring that the content will remain available online and the links will not change. We will add content as it becomes available online.

Because of copyright regulations, this page only includes the full text of material that is in the public domain or for which we have received specific permission from the organizations sponsoring the material. We also provide background information and definitions of key concepts that are essential to understanding globalization and the workplace. In addition, we have built an archive of Web sites of organizations that have been actively engaged in a broad range of issues related to globalization and the workplace.

International Labor Standards

Documentation produced by various organizations in their efforts to create, monitor, and enforce labor standards that guarantee rights in the workplace at international level.

Economic and Social Justice

Social Conditions
