Registration Information
LODGING AND COSTS
Conference participants will be housed in the South Campus Residences. Rooms are air-conditioned. The conference fee, which includes lodging, meals, all conference activities, materials, and child care, is $430/double and $495/single. There are no accommodations available for spouses or partners. Young Woman's Day on Wednesday, July 26th, is $60/double.
SCHOLARSHIPS
A limited number of partial scholarships are available and will be awarded on the basis of need. Encourage your union to pay your way before you apply for a scholarship. Please check for scholarship information on the registration form for a scholarship application.
CHILDCARE
The Summer Institute covers the cost of childcare for children who must accompany their mother or guardian. The Mansfield Discovery Depot will be providing childcare for children under the age of five. Children between the ages of six and twelve will attend the Town of Mansfield Day Camp. Mothers and their children will share suites with other mothers and children. Parents who plan to bring their children should check for childcare registration information on the registration form below. A limited number of slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No unregistered children will be accepted at the school. Reservations for childcare must be received by June 15th.
REGISTRATION
Register early as space is limited. All students must be preregistered. Check-in is Sunday, July 23rd, between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED!
Registration has been extended to July 1, 2000. Please complete and return the form below with the entire fee (for Summer School: $430/double and $495/single; for Young Woman's Day: $60/double). Please make checks payable to: Labor Education Center, University of Connecticut. Registrations received after July 1 are assessed a $20 late fee. Returned checks are assessed $35.
DEPOSITS AND REFUNDS
Cancellations must be received in writing before any refunds will be issued. Full refunds, with the exception of the non-refundable registration fee, are available until June 16, 2000. Late cancellations will be pro-rated to cover non-recoverable costs.
TRANSPORTATION
The University of Connecticut at Storrs is accessible by air (Bradley Airport, Hartford), by bus, and by Interstate 84 and 91. A map and travel information will be sent in your registration packet.
