Catherwood Library is the most comprehensive resource of its type in North America. With a collection of more than 226,000 books, journals, pamphlets and related materials - complemented by extensive access to electronic resources from around the world - Catherwood supports education and research in nearly every aspect of the workplace.

Kheel Center Archives

The Kheel Center is a rich repository of manuscript and media archival material on the history of labor relations. Holdings include an estimated 27 million manuscript pages of archival material, more than 350,000 photographic images, and 1,500 films and videos.

    Catherwood Subject Guides are topical collections of key links that provide an overview of issues, data, and developments related to the workplace. Course Guides are developed by reference staff and professors in support of ILR courses. Collection Guides includes summaries of special collections.

    WIT is a FREE email service that provides vital news about the workplace and delivers it to your desktop. We also offer an online searchable database of past issues.

    The Kheel Center makes available online an alphabetical listing of Finding Aids describing a portion of the collections in its holdings.

    Conversations in Working Life and Culture

    Each semester the Kheel Center hosts an interdisciplinary lecture series, which presents informative talks by individuals whose original research explores the history of workers and the economic, social, political, and cultural dimensions of their lives.

    This searchable database includes a continually-growing number of images selected from the center's 350,000 photographs that document workers in a variety of unions and industries, predominantly during the 20th century.

    Triangle Factory Fire Web Exhibit

    The Triangle Shirt Waist Company fire in New York City more than 90 years ago claimed the lives of 146 young immigrant workers. The online Triangle Fire Web Exhibit depicts one of the worst disasters since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
