Students attending the resource room and working toward a high school diploma generally have their "voice" in their IEPS, they all come to their meetings and are prepared to voice their questions and concerns.
Students attending other programs (ie BOCES, Pathfinder) and those who are pursuing an IEP in a Morris class have less of a "voice" in their IEP and their goals are not measureable.

|
1. Be more specific with teachers in other programs about what is expected on the IEPs. If what is expected is not on the IEP, it will be returned to be rewritten.
2. Have the teachers at Morris look for and experiment with ways to include the voice of students not typically heard (more disabled) in their IEPs. Share these results with other programs.
3. Work out a "script" to used at annual reviews and share it with the teachers so they can do a better job of preparing their students to speak at their meetings.
4. Have meetings for students in other sites at their site so it is easier for them to participate.
5. Workshop, conducted by SETRC, for all secondary teachers on writing measureable goals.
