Wendy Strobel is a program associate at the Northeast DBTAC. She holds a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Ms. Strobel has worked extensively in the application and training of issues around assistive technology in work and school environments. She also has a great deal of experience in the area of employment and transition from school to work for people with disabilities. Other areas of interest include person centered planning philosophy and tools, disability legislation and its impact on services, and the identification and accommodation of the functional limitations of disabilities across the lifespan. Ms. Strobel has worked as a vocational counselor at the Renseallear NYSARC, as an employment specialist and as a trainer at the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Workplace Supports, as a education consultant (for both transition and assistive technology) at George Mason University's Training and Technical Assistance Center (GMU T/TAC) for Region IV of the Virginia Department of Education, and most recently as a project manager and director of training at the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Technology Transfer at the University at Buffalo's Center for Assistive Technology. Wendy has published numerous book chapters and articles on issues related to assistive technology, universal design for learning, employment and people with disabilities, and transition.
