This session will discuss the economic self-sufficiency continuum and why it is important to individuals with a disability as well as the role of work incentives practitioners in assisting individuals with a disability to become self-sufficient.

Continuing to build on session 5.1, this session will cover the wide array of SSA work incentives and other programs that increase income and resources to individuals with a disability while remaining eligible for needs based benefits. It will also discuss strategies for connecting consumers to financial literacy training and support as well as discuss the importance of forging collaborations with agencies that promote economic self-sufficiency.
Through this training the audience will learn about the special education process, and how does the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) apply to schools.
