Accessible Detention and Correctional Facilities Webinar
Unique security features can pose challenges to designing accessible detention and correctional facilities. Technical provisions addressing these issues are included in the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards and the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Accessibility Standards and address features in holding cells and housing cells.
This session will highlight applicable provisions for these facilities along with some additional requirements established by the U S Department of Justice.
This webinar will be hosted on August 2, 2012 at 2:30 - 4:00 (ET). To register, visit www.accessibilityonline.org

Getting Hired and Moving Ahead in a Job with a Disability
People with disabilities continue to be employed or underemployed at astonishingly high rates. The gap in the employment rates of people with disabilities versus those without disabilities has changed little in the past three decades, and it appears it may be widening. This training will provide information about how individuals with disabilities can increase their chance of being hired and succeeding in employment. Participants will have an opportunity to hear success stories and to increase their knowledge of disability rights and legislation, including the implications of the ADA AA on employment.
