This comprehensive discussion of SSAs disability standard, review and appeals process, uses PowerPoint, lecture and written materials to provide a detailed overview of the program the majority of American workers will depend upon should they become faced with a disabling medical condition. This detailed session provides opportunity for question and answer. Online polling will be used to test participant knowledge.  A preparatory reading assignment will be provided and is required.

This 3-part webinar series, presented by the ADA National Network , and co-sponsored by theNational Council on Independent Living (NCIL) , will focus on highlights of the 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design. The Standards, adopted by the Department of Justice in 2010, became mandatory for use on March 15, 2012.

Find out what's been added, removed, revised, and reorganized. Learn what's new from parking to plumbing!

Presented by Nancy Horton, Information Specialist with the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center. Ms. Horton has nearly 25 years of experience in the disability field, including working as an accessibility specialist at Centers for Independent Living, and providing consultations and architectural plans reviews for Eastlake, Derry & Associates.

The cost is $40 for each location for the full series. For an additional $20, you can receive hard copies of the U.S. Department of Justice publications:"2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design" and "Guidance on the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design." Supplies of these publications are limited; they will only be available while supplies last.

What if I can't make all the dates?
The webinar series will be archived. Registrants will be provided information on how to access the archives. Participants are urged to listen to the first session before participating in the second or third.

Yes, captioning will be provided for this webinar series.

Are continuing education hours available?
This webinar series has been approved for 4.5 LU/HSW from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). A certificate of participation will also be available.
