The Citizen-Centered Leadership Development Community of Practice series is a unique combination of self-paced distance learning study, robust field work, interactive class assignments and live webcast instruction designed to advance theoretic and skill-based learning leading to quality outcomes in the lives of people with disabilities.
This session is open to all members of the NE ADA Center’s ADA TN. Members of the Advanced TN are required to attend or listen to the archived webinar prior to participating in the live ADA Trainer Events in March (NY) or April (NJ) • National trends impacting people with disabilities • Introduction to environmental scan • How do conduct an environmental scan to determine local community needs • Using environmental scanning as a member of the ADA TN
ATIA is a membership organization of manufacturers, sellers and providers of technology-based assistive devices and/or services. This event features educational sessions spanning the breadth and depth of assistive technology and an exhibition hall where you can see the power of assistive technology in action. The event will take place in Orlando, FL from January 30 to February 2, 2012.
Patrons with all types of disabilities use public libraries. This training will review the variety of disabilities, how to respectfully interact with individuals with disabilities, and how to best serve library patrons with obvious and hidden disabilities. This session will also cover the obligations of public entities under the ADA.
