This event will detail the requirements of Title II entities under the ADA and discuss the changes in ADA regulations since the ADA Amendments Act. It will also address how a town’s government can best serve constituents with disabilities.

Through this training the audience will learn about the special education process, how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies at schools, and how to use reasonable accommodations in the classroom.

This session initially will provide a basic overview of this important and little-used work incentive and how it applies to SSDI and SSI applicants and recipients. It will then provide strategies on using the work incentive to assist individuals returning to work as well as a discussion about the strategies for development, documentation and presentation to the Social Security Administration.
