In this webinar, we will present relevant and current information on disability and employment in New York State, providing our community of stakeholders a better understanding of where we are now, as we continue to work toward improving outcomes for individual with disabilities. Upon completing the webinar, participants will have a better understanding of the disability and employment situation in NYS, with a special focus on the following topics: 1. How disability prevalence rates vary across the state and among various groups. 2. Where disparities exist between people with and without disabilities in employment and financial security. 3. Factors that may influence the employment environment of New Yorkers 4. Utilization rates and outcomes of programs designed to serve people with disabilities.

Lecture, PowerPoint presentation and written materials will guide participants through the complex maze of rules and regulations controlling the SSI program. Special knowledge will be gained concerning just how to deal with crises when they erupt. Online polling will be used to test participant knowledge. A preparatory reading assignment will be provided and is required.
