Policy
People with disabilities have made great progress during our century, much of which has been
supported by legislation and programs launched by leaders in our communities, industries, and government. The admirable
committment of so many has, however, left us with a broad (and often confusing) array of initiatives and programs.
This section is designed to help anyone who wants to understand disability employment policy, and is set up to encourage
learning in two ways:
First, is the policy tutorial, which is a guided tour of current disability policy. The tutorial
will lead you through the legislative acts, agencies & programs, tax policies, and current research projects that affect
the employment of people with disabilities. If you don't know what you're looking for, this is a good place to start!
The second section is the quick reference section, which puts all the same information in the tutorial into
capsule form, where you may catch highlights of the various topics addressed in depth in the tutorial.
