Online Tutorials for Employers

Taking about two-hours to complete, this HRCI (SHRM) accredited online learning program provides an overview of disability inclusiveness, human resource practices and the connection to competitive advantage. Including an overview of workforce and disability trends, an organizational assessment tool, strategies for action and resources, it includes ten online modules:

  3. Identifying your human resource challenges
  4. Your diversity practices: Are people with disabilities included?
  5. Hiring practices: Spotting talent in all its faces

  8. Getting creative: Innovative practices for a disability-inclusive workforce
  9. It's also about the law: The Basics of ADA in the workplace
  10. You're not alone: The New Jersey Business Leadership Network, Incentives and Resources

Online Tutorials for Disability Service Providers

Taking about two-hours to complete, the purpose of this online learning program is to enable disability service providers to broaden and deepen their partnerships with businesses. This program is fully accredited for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credits. Including an overview of workforce and disability trends, an assessment tool, strategies for action and resources, it includes ten online modules:

  2. Communicate vividly & powerfully
  3. Build trust through connection
  4. Find proactive hiring strategies
  5. Add value; get the word out
  6. Know the business; know the work
  7. Find "jobs" everywhere

  9. Getting Creative: Innovative practices for a disability-inclusive workforce
  10. See a person, not a placement

In-Person Workshops

The Garden State Council of SHRM, New Jersey Independent Living Centers and Cornell University have collaborated to design a unique workshop that aims to enhance business success through disability inclusiveness.

  • Eight sessions will be delivered throughout New Jersey during 2008 and 2009
  • Based on latest trends and practices for diversity and disability inclusiveness
  • Three and a half hour workshop includes breakfast and optional networking lunch
  • Builds strategic collaborations in your local area to enhance your disability inclusiveness
  • Engaging and interactive program design
  • Provides HRCI (SHRM Human Resources Certification Institute) and CRCC credits
