Introduction Many benefits and work incentives practitioners think their job is done once they have developed some sort of report that presents options a beneficiary can select from when making decisions regarding work. Research shows though that this is not enough! Practitioners need to consider the levels and types of support a beneficiary may need to make certain decisions. While a beneficiary may be able to select that they want to work at a certain level and utilize certain work incentives, they may not know where to go to access the supports necessary to aid them in finding a job or how to apply to SSA for using certain work incentives.
Key Topics
  • Developing a Comprehensive Support Plan
  • Intersecting with Other Support Systems
  • The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program
  • Use of a Ticket and CDR Protections
  • Integrating Work Incentives Planning into Existing Service Delivery Constructs
  • Other Forms of Individualized Service Planning
Special Features This course explores the process for providing solid counsel using lecture, PowerPoint, and written materials. This skill-building session provides opportunity for question and answer. A preparatory reading assignment will be provided and is required. Internet polling will be used to ascertain knowledge acquisition.
