Larry Featherston, M.S., C.R.C., C.V.E.

Larry Featherston

Larry Featherston, M.S., C.R.C., C.V.E., is a Research Associate at DBTAC-Northeast and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Education and Research from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is also pursuing three graduate statistics certificates in Educational Statistics and Research Methods, Educational Measurement, and Educational Program Evaluation. He received his masters’ degree in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 2005.He is currently developing measurement instruments for the ADA Trainer Network and evaluating the trainings provided by DBTAC-Northeast to ensure that the services and interventions delivered are effective and relevant to the needs of the individuals and communities we serve.

Hannah Rudstam, Ph.D.

Hannah Rudstam

After completing her Ph.D. in Education at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, Hannah Rudstam worked as a program planner and evaluator at the Royal Adult Learning Academy in Stockholm, Sweden. Back in the U.S., she became a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Wisconsin, researching a state-wide health risk prevention program in Wisconsin. After re-locating in the upstate New York area, she took a position as a Senior Organizational Development Consultant at United Technologies and then at Eagle Consultants in Syracuse. In this capacity, she designed competency-based tools for hiring, performance management and employee development systems. Also, she developed a turnover prevention program that has been adopted by a number of national and global organizations. Three years ago, she took a position as Senior Extension Faculty with the Disability Business Technical Assistance Center of the Employment and Disability Institute at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. In this role, she has designed and implemented programs on a broad range of topics related to disability and employment.

Erin Sember

Erin Sember

Erin Sember is an ADA Technical Assistance Specialist with the Northeast DBTAC. She is responsible for answering ADA and disability related questions that come through either electronically or through our toll free 800 number. She also writes and disseminates the semi-monthly DBTAC Northeast News Bulletin. Erin holds a Masters Degree in Community Clinical Psychology from Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA. She has designed and implemented several presentations and trainings on Disability Culture at the campus, regional, and national levels. She advises the Cornell Union for Disabilities Awareness, a Cornell University student organization, and is a member of the Ithaca City Disability Advisory Council; Cornell Student Disability Services Advisory Board; and the Disability from Diversity Perspective task group through the Office of Workforce Diversity, Equity, and Life Quality.

Barbara Sosna

Barbara Sosna

Barbara Sosna is an Administrative Assistant for the DBTAC - Northeast ADA Center. She assists in arranging trainings and information dissemination on the ADA.

Wendy Stobel

Wendy Strobel

Wendy Strobel is a program associate at the Northeast DBTAC. She is currently working on developing the projects web sites, marketing materials, and developing new curriculum material. Wendy holds a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She has worked extensively in the application and training of issues around assistive technology in work and school environments. She also has a great deal of experience in the area of employment and transition from school to work for people with disabilities.

Richard Vargas

Richard Vargas is a technical assistance specialist here at the DBTAC. Richard answers the technical assistance line three days a week. Richard is New York State Building Code-certified. He is also a member of the State Fire Prevention & Building Code Council. Richard holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Potsdam. Before his working with the DBTAC at Cornell, Richard worked at ARISE, Inc., the center for independent living in Syracuse, NY.
