Arrival & Orientation
Students will make their own flight arrangements and arrive in Dublin at their convenience. Please note, students must attend UCD's mandatory orientation program and should plan to arrive in advance of that event. Students who choose to travel to Dublin before residence halls open, must arrange their own lodging for that period. Residence halls will not be available prior to the official opening date.
Students can take a taxi from the airport directly to their accommodation, or they can take an Aircoach bus that will drop them near their housing. The trip from the airport to the city center takes about 30-40 minutes. A taxi will cost 40-50 Euros depending on traffic. Please note, there is also a premium charge for taxis on Sundays.
ILR students living on-campus should go directly to the UCD campus and follow the check-in procedures provided by the UCD Accommodations Office.
Students living off-campus should contact the real estate agency upon arrival at the airport. (Please be sure to also be in touch with them prior to departure to coordinate your move-in date.) The landlord will make arrangements with the students to gain access to the apartment.
All ILR students are required to attend the Quinn School Study Abroad orientation. Orientation will focus on the Irish academic system, safety & health, social events schedule, and will include a campus tour.
