Rebecca Givan : Biography
Rebecca Givan joined the School of Industrial and Labor Relations as an Assistant
Professor in August 2005. She received her PhD in Political Science from Northwestern
University in 2004 and a BA from Oberlin College in 1997. Prior to joining ILR,
Professor Givan was a lecturer at Cardiff Business School. She also worked as
a Research Officer at the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School
of Economics. At LSE, she worked on The Future of Unions in Modern Britain program
funded by The Leverhulme Trust, producing publications jointly with Stephen Bach
(Kings College, London).
Her research and publications focus on public sector employment, especially in
the United Kingdom, healthcare workers, and welfare state reform.
