IBM, Bethesda, MD

Fall 2007

I chose to participate in the Credit Internship program as a way to explore potential career options coming out of the ILR School.  Specifically, I was considering both consulting and HR full-time positions, and wanted to better understand the pros and cons of each of these career paths.

IBM was the perfect place for me to explore both sides. As an HR intern for IBM's Global Business Services, I was able to get an inside look at consulting, while gaining Human Resources internship experience.  The people I worked with during my internship taught me about the practical application of much of my classroom knowledge, while simultaneously giving me the opportunity to share my own insights and ideas.
