Internship Responsibilities:



In addition to the Government Information Group, the Northern Virginia office is home to the key human resources staff (HR Director, Director of Recruiting, and HR Intern).  1105 Media, Inc. is committed to the professional development of interns and strives to provide them with a quality learning environment in order to acquire and develop the skills necessary for job placement and advancement. The goal of the Human Resources Department is to align human resources best practices with the strategic objectives of the company. To achieve this aim, the Human Resources Department will attract, select, train, develop, appraise, reward and retain the best talent in the industry.

The Human Resources intern will:

•    Be exposed to the full recruiting lifecycle during the course of their internship by assisting our Director of Recruiting with candidate screening and evaluation, interview coordination, investigation of new and innovative avenues for candidate sourcing, drafting and posting of job openings, etc.
•    Work closely with the Director of Human Resources and Director of Recruiting to develop and build a robust, dynamic new hire and internship orientation. 
•    Play a key role in coordinating the company’s “Training and Development” initiatives.
•    Assist with various Organizational Development (OD) projects and initiatives.
 

SKILLS:

Interns with prior Human Resources classroom or professional experience are strongly preferred.  Interns must have high attention to detail, be very organized and self-motivated, and possess a high degree of discretion.  Prior office experience is preferred.


STIPEND:  $7.25/hour
