The League represents over 9500 police officers (LAPD) rank Lieutenant and below.  The League administers medical, dental, and life insurance for members.  In addition, full time attorneys and legal staff deal with unfair labor practices, grievances, and arbitrations.

Intern will have the opportunity to attend a variety of meetings with supervisor (Director Lee) including meetings re: pensions, insurance, department meetings, conferences, etc.  Interns will do research for these meetings as necessary.  Interns will sit in on grievance meetings and arbitrations.  We will be in the midst of contract negotiations for the 2009 contract and the intern may be involved in helping the Directors prepare for bargaining.

SKILLS:

Must have completed CB 201 and CB 205.
Strong analytical skills, familiar with Microsoft Suite
Must express interest in collective bargaining and negotiations
