For most of its history the ILR Credit Internship Program operated almost exclusively within the United States. In recent years, however, we have sought to expand its scope in attempt to offer our students unique opportunities to experience industrial and labor relations in an international setting.
The ILR School established a unique partnership with the International Labour Organization in Geneva, Switzerland several years ago. We now routinely place students in the various offices, agencies and departments of the ILO, including recent placements in Nairobi, Kenya and Beijing, China. Other opportunities exist with ILO offices in Cairo, Egypt, Bangkok, Thailand, and other select locations.
We have expanded our program further to include great internships with the European Foundation on the Improvement of Living & Working Conditions in Dublin, Ireland; the Employers' Forum on Disability, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, the T&G, and the GMB, in London, England; the Congress of South African Trade Unions in Johannesburg, South Africa, IBM in Madrid, Spain, and UNI in Nyon, Switzerland among others.
Other great opportunities are in the planning stages for international locations.
