Labor-Management Training & Consulting

We work jointly with union and management groups to provide the skills, processes, and information to help labor and management achieve the most effective workplace relationship.

We have considerable experience at the local and national levels in both the public and private sectors assisting labor and management to improve traditional labor relations functions and to use the labor-management relationship to achieve shared goals within and beyond the workplace.

Our labor-management assistance includes training, facilitation, and technical assistance (pdf) in designing and implementing a broad range of activities. ILR is a national leader in providing skills training and facilitating the practice of Interest-based Negotiations (pdf) in unionized settings.

We offer specialized assistance in conflict and labor-management relations to public school systems (pdf) and to community colleges through Cornell's Institute on Community College Development.
