From the North: Take Interstate 81 South to Exit 12 at Cortland-Homer. Take Route 281 South to State Route 13, go South on State Route 13 to Ithaca. Once on State Route 13, continue South to State Route 366. Turn left after the NYSEG Complex onto State Route 366. Follow State Route 366 East until you reach the intersection with Hoy Road. Turn right onto Hoy Road and it will leave to straight into campus. The ILR School is on Garden Avenue.
From the South: Take Interstate 81 North through Binghamton to Whitney Point and Route 79 West to Ithaca. Follow CU signage to Campus. The ILR School is on Garden Avenue.
From the West: Take the New York State Thruway east to exit 42 (Geneva) and Route 96 South to Ithaca, or take the Thruway east to exit 41 (Waterloo) and Route 89 South to Ithaca. Follow CU signage to Campus. The ILR School is on Garden Avenue.
From the New England area: Take the New York State Thruway West to exit 34A, Route 481 South to Interstate 81, Interstate 81 South to Homer, and Routes 281 and 13 South to Ithaca. Follow CU signage to Campus. The ILR School is on Garden Avenue.
From New York City and the Metropolitan area: Take the New York State Thruway North to exit 16, Route 17 West to Binghamton, Interstate 81 North to Whitney Point, and Route 79 West to Ithaca; or take Route 17 through Binghamton to exit 64 and Routes 96 and 96B North to Ithaca. Follow CU signage to Campus. The ILR School is on Garden Avenue.

Parking
Visitors driving to Cornell may park in any metered area on campus or may buy visitor permits valid for one day at any parking and information booth or at the Transportation Office. Visitor permits can be purchased at the traffic booths upon entering campus. A visitor staying at the Statler Inn on campus may be issued a parking permit that allows parking in Visitor Areas. Maps are also available at the booths. Park as close to Ives Hall as permitted or ask at your place of lodging to shuttle you to the Conference Center, which will be much more convenient because parking on campus is limited.
Many parking spaces on campus are reserved for persons with disabilities and are clearly posted for restricted hours, license plate numbers of authorized vehicles, and other conditions of use. In addition, general spaces designated for the disabled are provided campus-wide. Any vehicle with a current university handicap parking permit or current visitor permit accompanied by a handicap designation (placard or license plate) may park in these spaces.

Car Rental:
Ithaca is home to Hertz, Avis, National, and Rent-A-Wreck in addition to several local agencies.
By Bus:
Ithaca is served by both Greyhound and Shortline carriers. Visitors arriving at the downtown Ithaca bus station catch a ride to the University by taxi or on the TCAT (Tompkins Country Area Transit) buses.
By Train:
The nearest Amtrak station is in Syracuse, about 50 miles north of Ithaca. The Ithaca/Syracuse Airport Limousine provides transportation between the Amtrak station and Cornell (details below).
By Air:
Air travel to and from Ithaca is serviced primarily by two airports, Tompkins County Airport in Ithaca and Syracuse Airport (about 50 miles north of Ithaca). US Airways Express offers service to its Pittsburgh hub and commuter service with several daily round trips from Ithaca to Boston, New York (La Guardia) and Philadelphia. Syracuse is serviced by several major airlines including U.S. Air, American, and Delta. Limousine service (details below) is available to and from the airports. Car rental offices for Hertz and Avis are located at the Tompkins Country Airport. The Syracuse Airport houses Hertz and Avis, among others.
