b.  your organization's current biggest challenge

c.  any changes in the types of information that patrons/clients are seeking

d.  anything else you want to say (in less than 7 minutes...)

non-attendees should consider sending a report either to the CIRL e-mail list or directly to Suzanne <sac29@cornell.edu> to report on at the meeting.

Collaborative Creation of an Industrial and Labor Relations Search Engine by CIRL

Purpose:  To create a customized search engine that will aggregate many of the freely available web resources deemed relevant and valuable to labor relations researchers in order to narrow the retrieval from doing an open web search.

[more details were sent out via e-mail agenda]

4:00-4:15pm

CIRL web site

The web site needs to move from its current content management system (hosted by Cornell ILR).  The ILR School is willing to continue hosting, but the site would have to be presented within the frame of the Cornell ILR School, which is not ideal. Suzanne will present the details and some of our options.

4:15-4:50pm

Digitizing Labor-Related Materials (including possible show-and-tell)

Many of our institutions have established Digital Registries for collections that meet defined criteria, but are there other ways that we should be cooperating or communicating with each other about digitization projects?  Let's start this discussion.  At the minimum, please bring with you information about any digitization projects that you might be considering, so we can use these as examples to establish what we're actually talking about.
