Robert Huret

Robert A. Huret (BS ILR'65, MBA Harvard University '68) is a founding general partner of Financial Technology Ventures in San Francisco, CA. FTVentures is a private equity firm whose limited partners are 38 of the world's largest financial institutions. Since 1984, Mr. Huret has been Chairman of Huret Rothenberg & Co, a private investment firm. From 1984 to 1998 he was a senior consultant to Montgomery Securities and from 1976 to 1984 he was Senior Vice President, Finance and Trust Executive Officer at the Bank of California. He is a director of the Bank of Hawaii Corporation and several private companies.
Mr. Huret is a university trustee, having been elected by the Cornell alumni body to a four-year term beginning July 2004. Mr. Huret is a member of the Cornell University Council and served on its Administrative Board from 1994-2000, and as the vice-chair from 1998-2000. He also is a member of the Athletics Alumni Advisory Committee, the Athletics Campaign Steering Committee, and the Student and Academic Services Committee. He has previously served on Cornell's Adult University Committee and was a member of the ILR Campaign Committee from 1991-95 during the University's Campaign to Create the Future. He was the 2005 recipient of ILR's Alpern Award, recognizing accomplishments in his field and service to the ILR School.
Bob Huret has many interests at Cornell, including CAU, Cornell's presence on the World Wide Web, long-distance teaching and learning, and advising. At the university level, Bob and his wife, Judy, have provided challenges to encourage senior class, young alumni, and general donor participation. They have provided generous support to the ILR School, in particular in the area of encouraging and developing excellence in teaching. In 1994, they established the Duncan MacIntyre Award for Excellence in Teaching, in honor of Duncan MacIntyre, an ILR labor economics professor from 1950 until 1975. Sparked by the establishment of this fund, ILR annually holds a formal recognition event when faculty members and TAs are recognized for exemplary teaching, and student awards are announced and presented. Bob and Judy Huret reside in San Francisco, CA. They have three daughters, Jennifer Huret Dulski ('93, JGSM '99), Deborah Huret ('96), and Bonnie Morrison.
