L. William (Bill) Kay

billy-kay L. William (Bill) Kay ’51 is a self-employed real estate developer and investor. He is managing partner for Drexelbrook Associates, the third largest apartment complex in the Philadelphia area. He also owns a restaurant and owns and manages an 880-acre steer feeding and crop farm in Downingtown. He is a trustee of the Brandywine Hospital and Trauma Center in Coatsville, PA and serves on the hospital’s Foundation Board. He is a mentor for the Jobs & Advancement Program, helping welfare recipients return to work.

Kay has a long and extensive history of service to the School as well, exemplified by his receipt of the 1997 Frank H.T. Rhodes Exemplary Alumni Service Award. He was co-chair of the School’s first capital campaign in the mid-1980s. He is a life member of the Cornell University Council, and co-founder of the Cornell Real Estate Council. In addition, Kay played a leadership role in establishing the Maurice and Hinda Neufeld Founders Fund Professorship, an endowed professorship in the ILR School. From 1990- 1995 he chaired the ILR Campaign Committee and served on the School's Advisory Council.
