Ruth Raisfeld, ILR BS 77 and Vice President-Secretary of the ILR Alumni Association met with Honorable Stephen J. Adler, ILR BS ’62, President, National Labour Court of the State of Israel. Ms. Raisfeld, a mediator and arbitrator, was in Jerusalem to study at the Shalom Hartman Institute where she met with Judge Adler at the Labour Court over which he presides. Judge Adler serves as the President of the highest appeals court in Israel with jurisdiction over all labor and labor relations matters. He is highly regarded by both employers and unions for his fairness and ability to help the parties resolve disputes without work stoppages or other interruptions that could not only cause economic disruption but impact Israel’s security. Judge Adler will be teaching a course in Ithaca this Fall entitled "Israeli Labor Relations & Labor Law in Comparative Perspective." July 2009
