ILR Online
A new series of webinars offered by the ILR School
Second Webinar:
Beyond the Leadership Hype: Get Them on Your Side and Keep Them on Your Side (the non-academic voice of an academic)
The discussion of leadership has been hidden beneath mythology, fads, and academic jargon. Professor Bacharach believes that beneath the leadership hype, leadership is a straightforward concept, having to do with the capacity not simply to generate ideas, but also the capacity to mobilize people around these ideas, and to put these ideas in place. He views leadership as the learned capacity to be proactive, not something you're born with. Building on the concepts presented in his two books, Get Them on Your Side: Win Support, Convert Skeptics, and Get Results and Keep Them on Your Side: Leading and Managing for Momentum, in this presentation Professor Bacharach will address leadership as a proactive learned skill which all organizational members can attain and apply.
