<p class="extMainbody">How to get to the ILR Extension Long Island Office:</p>
<p class="extMainbody"><i><b>From the West:</b></i> Take the Long Island Expressway (Rte. 495) to Exit 49S. Continue on the service road until you reach the 3rd traffic light. Turn right onto Pinelawn Road. Continue approximately 0.7 mile until you reach the sign for 135-145-155 Pinelawn Road (on right). Turn right into office complex. 145 Pinelawn is the second building on the left. The Cornell ILR Long Island training facility is on the third floor in Suite 350 South.</p>
<p class="extMainbody"><i><b>From the East:</b></i> Take the Long Island Expressway (Rte. 495) to Exit 49N. Continue on the service road until you reach the 1st traffic light. Turn left onto Pinelawn Road. Continue approximately 0.8 mile until you reach the sign for 135-145-155 Pinelawn Road (on right). Turn right into office complex. 145 Pinelawn is the second building on the left. The Cornell ILR Long Island training facility is on the third floor in Suite 350 South.</p>
<p class="extMainbody"><b><em>From the North:</em></b> Take the Northern State Parkway to Exit 40S (Rte. 110 South). Continue on Rte. 110 until you reach the second traffic light. Make a left onto Pinelawn Road and continue for approximately 1 mile until you reach the sign for 135-145-155 Pinelawn Road (on right). Turn right into office complex. 145 Pinelawn is the second building on the left. The Cornell ILR Long Island training facility is on the third floor in Suite 350 South.</p>
<p class="extMainbody"><b><em>From the South:</em></b> Take the Southern State Parkway to Exit 35 (Wellwood Avenue, toward Pinelawn/Lindenhurst). Turn onto Wellwood Avenue and proceed north for approximately 1 mile. Wellwood Avenue becomes Pinelawn Road. Continue for approximately 0.1 mile until you see the sign for Greenway Plaza on your left. Turn left at the traffic light into the driveway of 135-145-155 Pinelawn Road. 145 Pinelawn is the second building on the left. The Cornell ILR Long Island training facility is on the third floor in Suite 350 South.</p>

<p class="extBigBodyTitle">Long Island Labor Studies</p>
<p class="extMainbody"><strong>Description
<br></strong>The Long Island Labor Studies Program is a unique Credit and Certificate Program
designed for working adults involved or interested in labor education and labor
relations.
<br>
<br>Classes are offered in the evening from September through June. A Certificate
in Labor Studies is awarded from Cornell University upon completion of 18 credits
of study; an Advanced Certificate is awarded upon completion of 27 credits. These
credits may be transferable to programs at other colleges and universities in
the area.
<br>
<br><b>Time and Location</b>
<br>Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:40 p.m. at the Cornell
ILR, Long Island, training facility in Melville, New York.
<br>
<br><b>Faculty</b>
<br>Courses are taught by Cornell-approved instructors who are experienced professionals
in labor relations with a special interest in adult education.

<p class="extMainbody"><b>General Requirements:</b></p>
<p class="extMainbody">Students must complete six 3.0 credit courses to earn the 18-credit Labor Studies
certificate. To gain broad-based knowledge of labor relations, it is strongly
recommended that students take courses Arbitration, Contract Bargaining, Labor
Law, and Labor History.
