Student Life at ILR

As you might expect, ILR students like to organize and participate in the over 750 registered student organizations on campus. ILR Student Organizations include the following:

ILR Ambassador Program

ILR Ambassadors are student volunteers who host prospective students and helped us design this website. If you would like to come visit, you will probably meet one. To schedule a visit, email Courtney Fisher at cgf7@cornell.edu or call ILR Undergraduate Admissions at 607-255-2222.

ILR Women's Caucus

The ILR Women's Caucus devotes its attention to the opportunities and handicaps facing women in the workplace. They have brought many renowned speakers to campus, including Betty Friedan, Susan Eisenberg, and Sonia Pressman Fuentes; they have organized many volunteer activities; and they have sponsored information sessions on topics such as women abroad programs, foreign work experiences, and women in law. Membership is open to anyone interested in the goals of the organization.

Cornell Organization for Labor Action (COLA)

The Cornell Organization for Labor Action is a non-hierarchical organization of students committed to the struggle for economic justice. These students contribute their energies not only to the labor movement within Ithaca, but also across the United States, and around the world. For more information see the COLA website.

ILR-Student Government Association (SGA)

SGA student representatives are liaisons between the student body, faculty, and staff. They energize the ILR community by planning events and publishing a newsletter. For more information see the SGA website.

Minority Industrial and Labor Relations Student Organization (MILRSO)

The MILRSO provides social, academic, and pre-professional support to its members. Open to all ILR students, MILRSO fosters cross-cultural friendships and dialogue. MILRSO coordinates an annual symposium and workshops that address the experiences and contributions of people of color in the workplace. They maintain corporate and alumni contacts to aid in members' professional development.
