Visiting ILR
Come visit! There are both ILR-specific and campus-wide programs you can participate in when you visit.
Open House and Transfer Day
A great way for prospective freshman and their families to learn more about ILR is to visit campus during Cornell University's Open House in October. Since this is usually Cornell's homecoming weekend, if you are planning to spend the night, you will need to make your hotel reservations well in advance. (Check cancellation polices when you make your reservations.) For details see the Open House home page.
Transfer students will want to visit during spring or fall Transfer Day held in early November or late March. For details see the Transfer Day home page.
Spring Transfer Day is scheduled for March 2007 in Ithaca, NY and March 2007 in New York City. Please email for more information or to make a reservation.
ILR Hosting Program
Take a tour or attend class with a student guide! Or to arrange an overnight visit with the ILR Ambassador Hosting Program, email Courtney Fisher or call ILR Undergraduate Admissions at 607-255-2222.
ILR Information Sessions
Group Sessions
Year-round: Monday - Friday at 2:30 p.m.
To sign up for an information session, please contact ILR Undergraduate Admissions by phone at 607-255-2222 or by email.
ILR does not do personal interviews for freshman prospects.
Cornell Campus Tours and Information Sessions
To experience a slice of life on campus, Cornell's student-run Red Carpet Society will pair you with a Cornell student who'll host you for a tour of classes and an overnight visit in a residence hall. Red Carpet hosting runs from September 12 to March 2, except during vacation and exam periods. Contact the Red Carpet Society at least two weeks before your visit by email or by phone at 607-255-3447. See also the Undergraduate Admissions Office for information about visiting Cornell.

ILR Parking Information
If you plan to attend an admissions event, please stop by one of the four staffed Visitor and Parking Information Booths at the main entrances to campus. Information booths are staffed 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Identify yourself as an admissions guest. You will be given, at no charge, a permit and directions to park in the area designated for admissions visitors. Campus maps are available at the information booths.
Unscheduled visitors driving to Cornell may park in any metered area on campus or may buy visitor permits valid for one day at any information booth or at the Transportation Office. A visitor staying at the Statler Inn will have free parking at the hotel but may also purchase a parking permit for six dollars which will allow parking anywhere on campus. Park as close as possible to Ives Hall when visiting ILR.
Many parking spaces on campus are reserved for staff and faculty with disabilities and are clearly posted for restricted hours, license plate numbers of authorized vehicles, and other conditions of use. In addition, general parking spaces designated for the disabled are provided campus-wide. Any vehicle with a current university handicap parking permit or current visitor permit accompanied by a handicap designation (placard or license plate) may park in these spaces.
