Student Organizations
In addition to the over 800 student organizations found at Cornell University, ILR offers students 7 distinct organizations to get involved in, that directly move forward the issues studied within the school.
ILR Student Government Association (SGA)
ILR is the only undergraduate college at Cornell with its own student government. SGA student representatives are liaisons between the student body, faculty, and staff.
ILR Global Affairs Club (IGAC)
For students interested in international affairs and issues affecting the global workplace. They host forums and special events with faculty, alumni, business, industry and non-profit leaders to discuss the impacts of current and proposed policies on the international workplace conditions and culture.
ILR Sports Business Society
For students interested in discussing topics and careers associated with the sports sector. The club hosts a radio show, writes a student blog, conducts research and publishes a magazine. They also sponsor guest speakers from the sports industry to discuss current issues and career options.
ILR Women's Caucus
Focuses on the opportunities and challenges facing women in the workplace. The group identifies and hosts speakers and information sessions around campus and the community to highlight current research, programs and initiatives that address issues for women in the workplace.
Cornell Organization for Labor Action (COLA)
An organization for students committed to social and economic justice in the workplace. The group focuses on advancing the labor movement within Ithaca, across the United States, and around the world.
ILR Ambassadors
Current ILR students volunteer to host prospective students and participate in admissions events. You are always welcome to visit and meet with an ILR Ambassador for lunch, or to sit in on classes or stay overnight.
Minority Industrial and Labor Relations Student Organization (MILRSO)
MILRSO provides social, academic, and pre-professional support to its members. Open to all ILR students, MILRSO fosters cross-cultural friendships and dialogue. MILRSO coordinates events that focus on the experiences and contributions of diversity in the workplace. They also maintain corporate and alumni contacts to assist students with their professional development.
ILR Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
SHRM is composed of undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in the professional field of HR management and the issues managers deal with, from leadership and recruitment to compensation and organizational culture. The group hosts speakers from organizations that recruit interns and employees from ILR.
