Tashlin Lakhani, MS/PhD
Tashlin Lakhani is a PhD Candidate in International and Comparative Labor and Human Resources. She holds an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration (with High Distinction) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen's University, and a Master of Science from Cornell University.
Tashlin's research focuses on understanding how differences in economic organization shape human resource systems and outcomes. Her dissertation examines the relationship between ownership form, human resource practices, and performance in franchise businesses in the hotel industry. In addition, she has conducted research on union strategies and the distribution of bargaining power in labor-management relations.
Tashlin has been awarded grants for her dissertation and research from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Her work has been published in the British Journal of Industrial Relations.
