About CRI

The Compensation Research Initiative (CRI) in the ILR School at Cornell University is a vehicle for interdisciplinary research on compensation, compensation design and compensation strategy.

All aspects of compensation are explored as part of the Initiative including (but not limited to) compensation design, compensation in for-profit and nonprofit organizations, executive compensation, benefits and pensions, total compensation, forms of pay and pay “mix”, the relationship between pay and “performance”, compensation in labor unions, public policy, regulation and legal issues, minimum wages and compensation internationally.

The Initiative also strives to be the central repository for academic research on compensation worldwide.

Working Paper Repository:

The Compensation Research Initiative (CRI) provides a central repository for academic research on compensation through the Cornell ILR Catherwood Library’s digital commons.  The location of the site is http://www.digitalcommons.ilr.cornell.edu/cri.

Interested researchers can submit their papers to the CRI for possible inclusion by sending a message to: cri-cornell@cornell.edu.

Data Archive:

The Compensation Research Initiative (CRI) provides a safe location to store and analyze data through the Cornell Restricted Access Data Center (CRADC) which was established in October 1999 as a NSF-sponsored pilot site for providing secure access to confidential research data. In May 2005, the Office of the Vice-Provost for Research designated CRADC as the University custodian of restricted access data sets.
